Julie, Julie ... A wonderful short film I had the privilege to work on as a production assistant last year. The film centers on Julie and Charles, a couple who work together at the same architectural firm, and whose marriage is on the rocks. After being hit by a car, Julie has amnesia and is strangely only able to speak French even though she has never been to France, nor has ever learned the language. This puts the concept of men and women "speaking different languages" to a whole new level.
Despite only being a PA for two days on set, it was a hefty two days. The shooting schedule was relegated to two weekends, so we had a limited time filming. I experienced 14+ hour work days when I PA'd and I must say those were the best experiences I ever had working on a movie. At first I was daunted because it was my first professional set, but everyone from the cast and crew were welcoming and willing to give advice to me and the other PAs. It was the similar family-like atmosphere I feel when I work on student films. It's the same atmosphere I hope to bring when I shoot films professionally.
